We are grandparents who believe that citizenship carries responsibilities extending beyond our own lifetimes.

Our grandchildren will inherit the nation we leave behind. They will inherit its liberties, institutions, opportunities, obligations, and debts, including the national debt which has passed $39 Trillion, an inconceivable amount.

Yet many of our grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren, are not old enough to vote, petition their government, testify before Congress, or hold public officials accountable.

They cannot protect their own economic future. We must protect the future for them.

We therefore establish GRAND - Grandparents Restoring Accountability and National Direction.

GRAND is a national community dedicated to restoring liberty, prosperity, responsible government, and genuine self-government for future generations.

Mission

We call upon grandparents and other concerned citizens to become informed, engaged, peaceful, and persistent participants in American civic life.

We will evaluate public policy by a simple test:

Will this policy leave our grandchildren free to govern themselves?

We seek to leave our grandchildren:

• Liberty rather than dependency;

• Opportunity rather than obligation;

• Sound money rather than currency with continuously falling purchasing power;

• Limited government rather than an unlimited Ponzi scheme;

We act because our grandchildren deserve a future of their own making.

We pledge to protect their interests, defend their liberties, and restore accountability and responsible direction to our nation.
